While teaching the Pet Partner training course we had a guest steal the show. Mary and Truman provided us with a couple tricks they have developed for integrating into their pet thearpy sessions with their clients. First Truman can discriminate his toys by names. Mary said he needs a little brush up but you can see that he still does quite well. He also can bounce a ballon back to you. Both great tricks for the clients interaction. It touches on several aspects of pet therapy. I will leave it to the medical staff to figure out what it applies to.

Some fun stuff to do to break up boredom when it’s too icky to go outdoors. Here we work on teaching Ginger to hold an object in her teeth while running through basic behaviors. I am using clicker training here, but using “yes” or “good” as a marker. Even though I’m inconsistent and use both words, Ginger is savvy enough to understand anyway.
